Ushornaia had an election every 5 years, with politicians only being able to serve 1 term before they had to peacefully leave office. If a president commited an illegal act, they would be held in police custody until a new president was elected. The 3 main parties were the National Liberty Party (NLP), the National Economy Party (NEP), and the National Welfare Party (NWP). The NLP was concerned about the rights of the people. The NEP was concerned about big business and the economy. And the NWP was concerned about using military might to give the people freedom. Some minor parties were the Socialist People's Party (SPP), the Fascist Union Party (FUP), the Workers Rights Party (WRP), and the National Monarchic Party (NMP). Note: The NMP was shut down after trying to overthrow the government and install a king.

In the year 1834, Ushornaia was formed out of 2 states that together controlled half of Ushornaia's main island. At the time, they were called Ushoria which eventually just became [nation]Ushornaia.[/nation] Immediately, the island went into bloody warfare with the east and west sides of the island fighting. Ushoria VS. Everyone else. Ushoria eventually won the war, although it didn’t really interact with the rest of RGBN, until a ship from Connotar started trade talks.

Ushornaia became a colonial powerhouse only stopping when a treaty said so. Ushornaia was a defender of democracy and stepped in on multiple wars. It got it’s first puppet along with some land after winning the Ushornaian-Tomsborgian war. After the fall of Reberydinigzadaland, it gained their colony on Orogia Island and became a superpower. Ushornaia focused on spreading democracy and peace however possible, and remained one of the beacons of light for RGBN.

Geography

The Jotala
The Jotala was discovered by Jokua Talabointo. It is a kind of isopod, and shortly after its discovery, it became a common and beloved household pet known for its easiness to take care of and its strange way of showing affection. Jotalas show affection by trying to put every part of their body (except their privates!) on you. They will flip over onto their back, then onto their stomach ect. until they give up trying. There was an about a 4 billion Akasoe market for Jotalas in Ushornaia.
Seraka
Seraka was the capital city of Ushornaia. While being economically important, Seraka was also home to many tourist attractions. The first and arguably most important is the Big Rock. No joke. This rock is big. But it's bigness is not what makes it so special, oh no, inside the Big Rock is a small room of unknown origin. Ushornaian scientists have not been able to unravel the mystery, and neither have New Arizonan scientists, but some people believe it's elves or dwarves or some other race of mythical creatures. One of Seraka's other tourist attractions is the Seraka Alien Museum, showing all of the evidence for extraterrestrial life Ushornaia had to offer. Another common tourist destination near Seraka is the Seraka Volcano which you can actually go inside!

Culture

Yamais
Before the gods of today, there were older forgotten gods. Gods of silt and ash as well as fire and blood. The universe began as a blank white void. Out of the nothing a patch of gray emerged from the white. From it, the first gods would break free, mere molecules in the gray patch. The first 3 were Olasu, god of the void, Uitera, god of evil, and Gokakoloak, god of death. In this void, they clashed above the gray patch. Olasu who could control the void beyond won many of the battles, but weakened the gray patch by letting in the void so much that the gray patch was destroyed. As the gods fell forever into the void, they met another god Ploces, god of peace. She convinced the 3 warring gods to put aside their differences and start the universe by destroying the void, turning nothing into something. Olasu greatly protested though, because he was the god of the void, and without the void he would cease to exist. However, Olasu was the only one who could destroy the void. Finally, Ploces convinced him to use his powers to destroy the void. He struggled to destroy the void for 3 days, but in the end, he managed to get the void to collapse in on itself. Olasu burst with the dying void, becoming the world in the process. Ploces, Uitera, and Gokakoloak created people to honor Olasu’s remains, and to make Olasu’s corpse more hospitable for the little humans, they transformed it into the world we know today. They had lots of baby gods together that control every aspect of our world. Too many to talk about, so this is where the story ends.
