[size=150][anchor=etmy][b]Etymology[/b][/anchor][/size][hr]
When whites settled what became "Southern Rhodesia" in 1890, and when the British South Africa Company was chartered to administer "North-Western Rhodesia" and "North-Eastern Rhodesia", it was not under those names, but the names of the parts—"Mashonaland", "Matabeleland", "Barotseland", and so on. The territories were initially collectively referred to as "Zambesia" (Cecil Rhodes's preferred name), "Charterland" (Leander Starr Jameson's proposal) or "the BSAC territories". "Rhodesia" was used informally by the settlers from the start of white settlement, and was common enough usage for newspapers to start using it in articles in 1891. In 1892 it was used for the name of the first newspaper in Salisbury, The Rhodesia Herald. The BSAC officially adopted the name "Rhodesia" in May 1895, and the British government followed in 1898. "It is not clear why the name should have been pronounced with the emphasis on the second rather than the first syllable," Robert Blake comments, "but this appears to have been the custom from the beginning and it never changed."

The first official use of "Rhodesia" was actually for a boma on Lake Mweru, established in 1892 near the mouth of the Kalungwishi River under the authority of Alfred Sharpe, the British Commissioner of the British Central Africa protectorate in Nyasaland. After "Rhodesia" became the official name of the territories in 1895, the boma's name was changed to "Kalungwishi". It was closed some years later.

Although "Northern Rhodesia" was not an official name until 1911 when Barotziland-North-Western Rhodesia and North-Eastern Rhodesia were combined, the name was used informally from 1895 onwards when referring to those two territories collectively.

[size=150][anchor=history][b]History[/b][/anchor][/size][hr]
Founded IRL 9th February 2022.
In 1970 after the failures of Ian Smiths government, [nation]The British Imperialism[/Nation] would grant The British South African Company the rights to the land that now occupies 'southern Rhodesia'. The BSAco would begin to mine the land, using natives as forced labour, in order to meet the quota set by the British.

Eventually, over time, the BSA co began to lose influence. In early 2022 Rhodesia would transition to a crown colony and then a dominion.

Under Dominion, Rhodesia faced further problems, and eventually, this would lead to the foundation of a republic.

Before the federation was created the country was called [nation]the union of new Rhodesia[/nation], the union was a place constant stricken with war and problems, and eventually, it collapsed.

The federation of greater new Rhodesia and Nyasaland, one of the last white minority rule governments in Africa, was founded from the remnants of [nation]the union of new Rhodesia[/nation] on the 24th of May, 2022, after the union collapsed due to international pressure. The newly founded federation would take a neutral stance to war, refusing to involve itself in warfare.

After several days under the presidency of Peregrine Douglas Smith, the country would transition to an empire with Smith as its head of state. The royal family married into the royal house of [nation]British Bharat[/nation].

In late June 2022, Rhodesia would abandon apartheid.

Over time Rhodesia's international standing would greatly grow and the Wounds of the past began to heal. And on the 15th of July, 2020, 240000 persons from a colony of [nation]The free romanians[/nation], while being treated like Rhodesians they would not be added to census records, a decision made for practicality.

On the 16th of June 2022, Apartheid would finally be fully abolished.

On the 19th of July, 2022, Rhodesia began to experience a blistering heatwave that would affect the country massively.

After the financial crash of August 1st, 2022, rebellion began on the 5th. At the highest point of the Depression, the 6th of August, Rhodesia would become a republic under labour rule.

[size=135][anchor=pop]Population[/anchor][/size]
The population is made up of majority blacks, most of whom live in poverty or just around the line. Meanwhile, the 3% white Europeans rule over Rhodesia, as they've done since the 1890s. Nearly 13,956,675 Rhodesians are black while only 539,248 are white Europeans.

The divide has caused racial tensions to drastically rise, sparking many conflicts over the years.

[size=135][anchor=religion]Religion[/anchor][/size]
Nearly all white Rhodesians are members of the Anglican church, with a tiny minority being dutch reformed.

Meanwhile, religious denominations amongst Blacks aren't exactly clear due to poor census records for black Rhodesians. It is assumed that at least 20% of them are Anglican. Although it is believed most black Africans have their own Protestant churches.

[size=135][anchor=relations]Foreign Relations[/anchor][/size]
The federation, unlike the first republic, was mostly isolated at the beginning of its existence and was only open with the country of [nation]tescopepsi[/nation]. At the beginning of the existence of the federation, all foreigners were forbidden from entering the country. With many royal marriages Rhodesia would begin to have close relations with [nation]British Bharat[/nation]. These relationships would benefit Rhodesia greatly.

[size=150][anchor=eco][b]Economy[/b][/anchor]

Rhodesia's main exports are coal, lithium, diamond, asbestos, iron, copper, coal bed methane, nickel and chrome.

Despite its convoluted government structure, the CAF economy was a success. In the first year of the federation, its GDP was an impressive £350 million; two years later it was nearly $450 million. Yet the average income of a European remained approximately ten times that of an African employed in the cash economy, representing only one-third of local Africans.

In early June 2022, the Rhodesian stock market would begin to show a visible decline, worrying many about the possibility of a crash.

On the 2nd of August, 2022, at 10:52 PM the stock market would plummet and crash.
