The National Party

The National Party is a new political party in New Luciannova, it is generally a big tent party that favors right-wing populism, nationalism, anti-immigration, and oftentimes drifts into jingoism, lite fascism, national socialism, social democracy, and a according to its detractors, racism, xenophobia, and anti-clericalism. The National Party has gained some support from the increasingly weak Populist Party as well as Labor, and Solidarity, especially as many find Solidarity to be too theocratic and Katarina Lorum has moved the party too close toward moderate elements in the typical bloc of Solidarity, Populist, and Labor. Many supporters of the National Party are working class people, union members, soldiers, and law enforcement officials.
The National Party has come under leadership of Ricardo Spurius who has denounced both capitalism and socialism suggesting that they both promote disloyalty to the state. Spurius has been highly critical of the theocratic elements in New Luciannova, and actually claims to be "secular," "an agnostic," "an atheist," and "a neo-pagan" at different times. This lack of an appreciation of Roman Catholocism is unlikely as New Luciannovans are nothing if not Catholics. However it appears his irreverence is gaining some traction.
The National Party used a golden eagle as its symbol and used brown as its color, sometimes with a stylized fasces as well.
