CANDIDATES IN W.C. REFERENDUM BEGIN THEIR CAMPAIGNS

VILANJA - Multiple candidates have announced their intention to run for the National Assembly referendum set for August 4th in what will be West Chanchajilla's first ever democratic election. Moderated and observed by dozens of nations under the Coalition of Crown Albatross-sanctioned referendum, East Chanchajilla, Paraboca, Zamastan, and Janapa specifically will be in charge of securing free and balanced elections.

The referendum, scheduled for August 4th, will select a new 300-member legislative body in the National Assembly. The N.A. was previously an institution that was run and selected entirely by Frederick Armbar and his officers. There was no democratic process, and West Chanchajillans protesting for democratic rights and freedom of the political process were often imprisoned, tortured, or executed.

In the new referendum process, however, over 800 individuals have announced their candidacies and some have already set their sights on forming political parties. Inevitable, according to experts, is the formation of a coalition government through majority vote. The process will allow for the election of a Prime Minister, who will be the candidate elected to the N.A. with the most total votes. Voting has been established to be proportionate to the population of each West Chanchajillan prefecture.

Currently in the lead for polling in the Prime Minister's race, Juan Diego Barrios, who established the newly formed Popular Democratic Party. At a rally in Ivora on Monday, June 15th, he spoke about uniting the country through the newly freed foundations of democratic processes, saying "West Chanchajilla is a proud nation of proud people, emerging from the long darkness. It is time to pave the path of a new future and establish ourselves as overcomers."
