Welcome to the UAP!
The Union of Asia and the Pacific (UAP) is a region for realistic nations, with a focus on community engagement, serious roleplay and and the joy of exploring the various nations and their culture, customs and traditions. It can be seen similar to the EU and ASEAN, focusing on regional cooperation, cultural exchange, a region-wide open border policy, and as a financial and (and potentially currency) union.
Please try to stay in character (your nationīs head of state) and stay realistic when interacting.
The UAP is a region for nations in (primarily East- and Southeast-) Asia and all nations bordering the Pacific Ocean, with a land area of approx. 500.000kmē max. Write me (the founder) a description of your nationīs borders and I will try to place you on our regional map!
To be accepted into the union, you will need 2/3 of all member state votes and various, rather detailed factbooks on your nations cultural aspects (the more factbooks the better!).
As stated above, this is a region for realistic and serious roleplay: treat each other with respect and stay as close to realism as you can (although some things can of course be too realistic). Everything that exists in our real world basically exists in our union too, with only few exceptions if they are necessary.

There are various ways you can engage with and contribute to the community!
Over on our discord server, you can talk about politics in the region and beyond, share interesting news about your nation, partake in events and competitions and have a look at legislations and maps of the UAP and itīs member states.
Get to know your fellow members in the "the forum" section of our discord channel!
Let us know how your nation and your citizens are doing in our (Regional Message Board) RMB or our discord "forum".
Each month I attempt to have each member state showcase an aspect of itīs culture or simply life in your nation. Discuss with others and share your opinions. Maybe happenings in other regions could become a hot topic in the UAP and force us to react.
Interaction with other regions in the name of the UAP is very much very welcome and encouraged. Should you find relevant and interesting happenings in other regions, feel free to share them with others to debate and discuss them together!
Occasionally, there will be competitions, potentially bringing your nation prestige within and maybe even outside of the union! Two scheduled competitions will be the PanPacific Songcontest (very similar to Eurovision), and Miss UAP (a beauty pageant based on irl Miss Earth)
Our events and competitions are a tool to expand, enhance and show our cultures and the glory that is the diversity of our nations.
As a serious region, we base our world on real life and thus use an actual map of our real world. This way, we create a sense of physical closeness among our member states. To claim your place in the union; write a description of your borders, reaching an area of around max. 500.000kmē (ex.: Thailand), be located in an area spanning from Asia on the Indian Ocean to America on the Pacific ocean, and I will try to put your nation on our map!
If the area you want to claim is already claimed by an existing nation, let me know and I will see if we can come to an agreement. Should tensions arise between existing nations, the union will get involved in the dispute.
