Vote Recommendation: Against
This resolution seeks to repeal GA #378 "Digital Network Defense", the second attempt by the author to do so. It does so for one reason only: it argues that a right to privacy has been established in other extant law and that GA #378 violates this right to privacy.
While we are adamant defenders of the fundamental rights of a nation's citizens, we are generally unconvinced by the notion advanced by the author that GA #378 displays a "total lack of respect for personal privacy", nor do we agree that the legislation necessarily blocks future efforts to codify a right to digital privacy for citizens.
For these reasons, the Ministry of World Assembly Affairs recommends a vote Against the General Assembly Resolution at vote, "Repeal: "Digital Network Defense"".
