The Office's Analysis

The at-vote resolution, "Protecting the Rights of Labour Unions", is intended to serve as replacement for the recently repealed GA 530 "Fairness in Collective Bargaining". The concerns raised in the original repeal, mostly of vagueness and arising loopholes undermining the actual intent, have been addressed adequately by the proposal at hand, once again guaranteeing labour unions to be free from interference by the respective employers and maintaining workers' freedoms to associate with a union. Joining previous WA legislation, this will serve as vital pillar of the protection of workers' rights. Thus, OWL recommends a vote FOR the at-vote resolution, "Protecting the Rights of Labour Unions".

Eastern New England is the Foreign Affairs Secretary of 10000 Islands. They stated on XKI's forums:

Eastern New England wrote:This proposal seems good enough at ensuring workers' rights through labor unions, so I am currently leaning in favor of this proposal.

Castle Federation is a WA author and a Citizen of The North Pacific. On TNP's forums, they posted:

Castle Federation wrote:I understand there may be issues with the proposal, but its passage will raise awareness for this subject and prompt a new better draft to replace it. Also, I believe its good outweighs some of its faults making it an acceptable enforceable law for the time being.

Against

Unojo is a Citizen of the South Pacific.

Unojo wrote:Sounds like it would end up having a communist revolt.

From the World

Praeceps is The North Pacific's Minister of Foreign Affairs. They stated on TNP's forums:

Praeceps wrote:Seems like a poorly-written and vague resolution to me in addition to the illegalities issues it has had. It is incredibly vague where it would benefit from going into more detail (eg. specify how labour unions are disallowed from discouraging employees from exercising their rights). There's plenty of room in a resolution, they should use it. Doesn't help that it appears like the author has been rushing to submission.

Marxist germany is a multi-time WA author and a Citizen of 10000 Islands. On the NS forums, they posted the following:

Marxist germany wrote:"Germany will oppose any iteration of this proposal that includes provisions which disallow employers from discriminating against workers based on their participation in a labour union. Employers should be free to determine if they wish to allow their workers to unionise, within the confines of the contract signed between the two parties, and the government should not impede this process."
