N-Day5: The Green Menace

J o J's Fun in N-Day5

Well, for my third N-Day, I think I am calling this a massive success! "But J o J!", you interrupt, "Your interregional pact with the fash got destroyed and scored below -1,500, and your personal faction only got 264 score, how was it a success?!" you ask. Well, you don't know the half of it my friend. Grab a seat and let me tell you a story.

A few days before N-Day began, I conjured up a massive multi-part plot for N-Day5. See, I knew because of my region shenanigans and the "Anti-J o J Coalition", everybody would be out to get me, so doing what I did in N-Day4 to create a faction in the top 10 with no nations in it to create an invincible score wouldn't work, I needed a new idea. After some time of deliberation, I devised a devilishly delightful plan of delectable demeanor. A multi phase plan to confuse, annoy, irritate, and most importantly, obliterate literally everybody who doesn't like me.

I'll explain this plan chunk by chunk then get into what I actually did during the event afterwards.

Planning

Step 1: Create an interregional faction to draw out the early anti-J o J hunters...

The N word Pact was the official multi-regional collective of J o J, Fifth Empire, and The New Iron Order for N-Day5. But there was a temporary ulterior motive for this pact, which was to create a faction based out of my main region to draw the fire of the early anti-J o J factions and nations who would be quick to target me, y'know, since I a have a target the size of Jupiter on my back for an innumerable list of reasons. I would then place one or two puppets in there to make them start launching at it, while I moved at least half of my fleet of capture squad puppets into whichever faction seemed the safest for remote production building, and then after they think they have achieved victory; strike them from beyond in a huge, swift, crushing blow. After these early to rise nuisances were quelled I could then move regular nations of my allies in, and some of my own.

Step 2: Establish a personal faction of my own with the illusion of mimicking my N-Day4 strategy to distract the others...

This didn't end up being as important as I thought, but it helped nevertheless, and hey, it's always nice to have a positive score faction on the leaderboards isn't it? Anyways, this would draw the attention of most of the rest of my hunters and fan club members trying to get my autograph, because they would constantly be checking that faction which I would occasionally send a puppet to do an in-and-out strike in to keep them on the bait, that way I exercise my main puppet force without them trying to intervene.

Step 3: Then amass a relatively large force of puppets in a megafaction and beat the crap out of all of them!

Call it cowardice, cheap, etc, but this is a common tactic that a lot of players utilize. For this I appropriated my card puppet fleet, about half of my capture squads, and a few other miscellaneous puppets into a strike force that I could use to wipe out enemy forces from the protection of massive numbers of shields. Doing this in a faction by myself likely would have been impossible due to the fact that I would be operating as a single player running only about a 100 puppets with no gimmicks, scripts, or funny business, and so without the thousands of shields to defend the puppets while they launched, it would have ended up as a failure because at least a few dozen players would be spamming nukes on the faction I created. In N-Day4 I didn't have a large number of puppets, but I did this year! The battlefield results demonstrate how much of a difference that made compared to last year...

N-Day5

Beginning of the Event

At the beginning of the event, as everybody else does, I starting building up resources to prepare. At first, since I was still a little tired, I stuck to my card puppets first and recruited my capture squads later. The brave sacrifice of J o Jian Capture Squad L5 as live bait for the early bird J o J hunters shall never be forgotten. They took the bait very quickly. The first ones I targeted was The Monarchist Entente. They had 17 nations in their faction at the time, a modest number for the start, and so I started targeting them en masse. Interestingly however, when they saw hundreds of targets begin to show up on their faction, they started running for the hills! That's right, any nation that wasn't being targeted at the time fled the faction, leaving 4 behind to be reduced to radioactive dust. The next target was actually Confederation of Corrupt Dictators, in their unsurprisingly "Shadow Cult" themed faction. I struck Depackya themselves and a few other puppets and decided to call it quits there because poor Jocospor and his posse were being heavily harassed by a wide array of attackers. The ones who I struck were the ones who took the bait in my faction anyways, so I was happy to move on to the next target I had, which was far more appealing.

The First Battle of NSLeft International Brigades

That's right, I was going straight for the jugular of the communists and targeting NSLeft themselves! They had about 177 nations in the faction at the time, but the issue for them was that their puppets were all stationed in the target region, mine were not! I targeted a barrage of 1,300 missiles and launched them all quickly, and the poor defenders who were currently online were unprepared and taken by surprise to see an attack of this magnitude this early. They were overwhelmed and could not stop all of the missiles, taking at least 700 strikes and being afflicted 545 radiation damage. A fine victory over a particularly annoying gameplay adversary.

Obliterating Kings Nuclear Guard

The next target was a faction who decided to arbitrarily declare my faction as an enemy for whatever reason. They seemed to be disorganized and unprepared for an all-out assault, so I served them that exact thing, and they were indeed disorganized and unprepared. I assembled and launched a bombardment of 2,000 missiles, causing 1,743 radiation damage to the faction, and opening the door for future bombardments to totally wipe it out.

Making a Card Farmer Pay

Later, as I was preparing to move a puppet or two out of my personal faction as per my plan to keep it as a distraction, a card farmer from The Leftist Assembly started stacking some targets on them. This slightly annoyed me, so again I assembled a massive stockpile to wipe this troublemaker out. This card farmer was running a personal faction as well, and if he wanted to cause a measly 200 radiation to ME, THEN HE was going to have pay every single cent for it. Their faction had plenty of sitting duck puppets laying around, so I launched another ~1,800-2,000 missile volley at this faction, sending dozens of puppets running for the hills and dealing 1,326 radiation damage to the faction. I hope 200 is equal to 1,326 over in the leftist assembly.

Taking a Break and Retreating from HotA

As we all know, in the first half of N-Day5, Horsemen of the Apocalypse was dominating the event, making a fine faction to place my puppets in for shield protection while they accumulated production. After my last nuclear launch at the card farmer, I was getting tired and the tides were turning against the Horsemen. So, despite not wanting to, I moved my various puppet forces out and left them unaligned for a while so I could take a break. Between this time and the destruction of KNG, I had also struck several minor nations and factions, just mentioning that here since it isn't worth explaining in great detail.

Returning for The Second Battle of NSLeft International Brigades

After returning, I saw that the NSLeft had revitalized their faction which had dropped to -4,000 score not too longer after my initial raid threw it into the negatives. I decided this was no good and I should launch an unprecedentedly huge attack to fix this. However, it appeared as though they had imitated my tactic, placing the ranks of the "NSLeft Revolutionary Guards" in a foreign faction as well. It also had 190 nations now instead of 177, as well as higher numbers of shields and production. I decided to go for it anyways, from my new shield faction CRAB. I prepared an initial wave of roughly 4,000 missiles, with a follow up wave of 2,000 to ravage them after the first wave soaked up their shields. The first wave took a huge beating, only dealing 300 or so radiation damage, and when I launched the second wave quickly after they managed to fully repel the entire wave. Even though it wasn't as much damage as I was looking for, it was still a successful raid in practical sense, because they were getting close to the top 10, and the 300 reduction in score helped to keep them off the leaderboard for some time until another faction targeted them while they were regenerating their shields.

Doing some Custodial Work in The Lost Ones

The Lost Ones was apparently the faction of The Wooloo Pact and the rest of the "Anti J o J" troublemakers that I had completely forgotten about. I was disappointed to see they had been all but annihilated except for a few stragglers, of which I took the opportunity to wipe out mercilessly.

Aftermath

Seeing how HotA went from from 100k score to -600k score very quickly, it is a good thing I retreated from that faction at the end of the day. If I hadn't, I'm sure a large group of players would have deliberately targeted my puppets out of the bunch. After cleaning up The Wooloo Pact's faction I decided I was all nuked out and left my remaining puppets in CRAB, who was kind enough not to let any of them get nuked. (Just because they didn't want my ~50-60 puppets in the faction tanking their score.)

Total Statistics for N-Day 2020
