New Toferdstan
The Union of New Toferdstan, officially the Union of the Kingdom of Vander Toferd, the Great Empire of Pigeonstan and the People's Republic of New Francois, is a union of 3 sovereign states dedicated to political and military harmonization and integration.
Each member state retains its own sovereignty and international personality, still being fully responsible for their own internal affairs and external relations. The Union of New Toferdstan cannot claim representation in other international organizations or overrule legislation or government decisions of its member states, except in cases specified by the New Toferdstan Treaty.
This supranational entity is overseen by the Council of New Toferdstan, the highest authority in the Union, made up of the heads of state and government of the three countries with each state having vote in the Council. The administrative body of New Toferdstan is the Council of Ministers, composed of the member states' Prime Ministers, Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Economy, and Finance and led by the General Secretary of the Union of New Toferdstan.
The legislative branch of the confederation is the Parliament of New Toferdstan, which contains a proportional number of deputies from each member state, elected every three years by the general populace of each. The Parliament, along with a separate Accounting Commission, controls the implementation of the New Toferdstani budget.
The New Toferdstan High Court, consisting of seventeen judges appointed for scattered six-year terms, shall resolve the disputes that arise between the member states. To be a judge, a person must have served as a judge in a New Toferdstani jurisdiction or be qualified to act as a lawyer in a New Toferdstani jurisdiction. An appointee needs to be a national, judge, or lawyer of a country within the jurisdiction of the Court. The Chief Justice is appointed by the General Secretary of the Union. Other judges are appointed on behalf of the General Secretary by the New Toferdstan Judicial Commission.
