Section 1: Nationstates

A. What to do in Nationstates?

Nationstates can be described as a playground where you do anything you want, creating the nation you dream to live on (or the one where it's a nightmare to live), and become a political leader following your ideals.

You modify your nation's policies by answering issues. How are you going to react to a protest? Will you listen to your people, or silence them? Depending on your choices, your nation statistics change. Be aware of this to avoid a wrong decition.

You can also write factbooks about your nation's history, geography, economy, philosophy, and more. Share the great books that fill your shelf, Leader!

And last, there is the World Assembly and the Forum. In the following sections you will learn more about them.

B. The World Assembly

The World Assembly is the world's governing body. It consists of the General Assembly and the Security Council. As a member of it you can mold the world to your vision by voting for or against any proposed resolution. Depending on the strength of the resolution your statistics will change.

Being part of the World Assembly is also a requirement to apply for citizenship in our region. After you sent your application, check the email you used for NationStates to see if your application was successful.

C. Forums:

If you like to debate real life social matters, or find a nice roleplay to hang out, you can always check the Forums. There you can find many sections like diplomatic or economic roleplay, or out of character (OOC) discussion. It is an interesting place you should pay a visit once a while.

Now that you know the basics of Nationstates, you can start learning about the life in The Allied Republic. The next section will guide you through everything this region has to offer.

Section 2: The Allied Republic

•In Nationstates:

A. The Regional Message Board:

The Regional Message Board, or RMB for short, is the place where you can chat and meet people in our region. It is also where we make announcements or daily topics. Feel free to talk about anything you want, from videogames to politics.

Say "Hello" to us in there! We look forward to meeting you.

•Discord Server:

If you want to experience The Allied Republic to the most, be sure to join our Discord server where you can find fun activities, like events, roleplay, government simulation, and more. You can meet us there, talk with us, give your opinion on politics, debate... A whole world of opportunities awaits you there.

A. Applying for Citizenship

Applying for citizenship is an easy task. You will be greeted by one of us at the Welcome Center. There you can get your citizenship by either

1. One of the members masking you.
2. Following the instructions of an automated message you will receive, in case there's nobody to attend you.

To apply for citizenship you must join the World Assembly. Please cooperate with the members in order to get your citizenship. After gaining it, you will be able to join our roleplay and government simulation. This is your first step in becoming an influential member in The Allied Republic.

B. Joining the Roleplay

Roleplay introduction:
The year is 2020. Powerful empires dominated North America. After a series of revolts and instability, these empires broke into pieces, then finally disappeared. What's left of them is a divided America, full of independent states and nations. Only a giant of the past remains: The Allied Republic. That, and their memories of an once powerful country...

You, Leader, will rise your nation, gaining power through diplomacy and warfare. You decide what is the path your nation will take: securing your own people's future or the continent's peace.

o-------------------------------------------------o

The Allied Republic Roleplay is not based on periods of time where an admin or mod decides which events take place in the story. Our roleplay flows as long as its players decide to interact with others. If you are an active roleplayer you are making the roleplay more interesting both for you and for the others. The Roleplay Moderators are there to check the balance, give warfare results, edit the map, etc...

Also, remember these basics of our roleplay before you join:

-Everyone is a character. Anything that happens between two or more players shouldn't be personal.

-Be creative. Creativity is the base of every good roleplay. Do not try too hard to imitate yourself as leader. Be a character of your imagination, give him a personality. Get inspiration from real life politicians and leaders, think how would they act. In short words, be someone different, be an actor in a theatre.

-Be realistic. Although this sounds contradictory in a fictional scenario, the truth is that it is no fun when someone has excessive power or advantage in games. Does a developing country having space weapons or robotic soldiers make sense? Always write realistic and balanced stuff.

-Help the story develop. Don't be inactive. Make diplomatic agreements with others. Invade your neighbours. Spy your enemies. Move your military. By doing this your nation outstands, be it for good or bad, and the roleplay becomes more engaging (only RP mods can activate world events).

To join the Roleplay, ask one of the server staff in #registation channel to assist you. You will fill a short application and your nation will be in the map, just as that simple. For more details, check the pinned messages in the aforementioned channel. Have fun! We'll see you there, Leader.

C. Government Simulation:

Take the role of a congressman and join a political party. Advance your preferred policies and masterfully debate at congress to gain favor. Vote in favor or against any proposed bill. The Congress is an enthralling place where every party maneuvers its way to power, in every possible way, with the most elaborated strategies a politician can come up with. It is a true battlefield of intellect.

To join Congress, fill the registration pinned in #congress-lobby. You can join a party that shares your character point of view, create a new one, or stay independent. Proposed bills are debated in #congress-debate and moved to vote 24 hours later.

D. Cabinet Offices:

The Allied Republic is looking for active, energic, hard working and passionate people to help in the development of the region. Working in the cabinet is a responsibility, but not like one of real life, but an entertaining task. If you wish to serve in the government, you should ask the President for any available offices, although if you show interest or any ability in particular, the President himself could choose you and offer a job. If you are new in the region, you should first get to know the region better and meet other members, remember that the most important thing if you want to be part of the government is that you love the region.

o-------------------------------------------------o

Now that you know the basics of Nationstates and learned about our different activities, go ahead and participate in our fun loving region. Be sure to check out the Discord server. Have fun!
