Parliament Moves Forward with Impeachment Hearings Against Snollygoster
Chamberlain of Parliament Marcy Bellows announced she will be moving forward with a resolution to consider impeachment proceedings against President Biff Snollygoster for series of complaints including bribery, fraud, conflicts of interest, and moral turpitude. For months, Bellows, a Democrat from Progreso, has resisted the move, maintaining she would only consider using impeachment powers in the gravest of circumstances, disappointing left-leaning MPs in her own party who regard the president as unfit to lead, and his election illegitimate. However, as new complaints about the President’s illegal involvement in Gardavasque’s failed 2019 Olympic Host bid, and attempts to illegally profit from foreign business deals have come to light, Bellows has once again found herself unable to dissuade other Democrats from appearing on television news programs making the case for impeachment, despite her warnings about the potential political consequences.
Cue: Bellows: “We are in possession of evidence of that would lead a reasonable person to suspect the president’s betrayal of his oath of office, betrayal of our national security, and betrayal of the integrity of our elections. I must stress at this time, we have only suspicions that warrant this formal investigation at this time., Because of the duty we hold to protect and defend the Constitution of Gardavasque, as Members of the Parliament of the People, we cannot allow these suspicions to remain obscured in the dark.Therefore, today, I am announcing an official impeachment inquiry will be launched. No one is above the law.”
That was Marcy Bellows, Democratic Member of Parliament from Progreso, speaking at a news conference earlier this morning. President Snollygoster immediately lashed out on Twitcher saying he “felt very attacked” and that Bellows was targeting him with her “abuse” before suggesting directing the Parliament to schedule a vote on impeachment was “mutiny.” Christian Conservative Capitalists in Parliament issued a joint statement that they would not cooperate with the impeachment process and use procedural delay tactics to avoid bringing any vote on impeachment to the Floor of Parliament.
Several hastily-organized political rallies, both in favor and against impeachment, have been organized at soapbox parks around the country and the hashtag #ImpeachSnollygoster is the leading trend on Twitcher.

Leak: Gardavasque Targeted by Kerlian Terrorist Plot
News leaked in Lauchenoirian news media has revealed extensive attempts by the Matriarchy of Kerlile to conduct covert spy operations in numerous other countries over several decades since the 1980s. Anonymous sources inside the governments of Kerlile and Lauchenoiria are confirming scores of sleeper cells have been sent from Kerlile into Lauchenoiria, Shuell, Laeral, Libertas Omnium Maximus, Democratic Republic of Eiria, Zamastan, Trive 38, Essena, Great shen, Gardavasque and Anglia-saxia. In some cases, sources allege, sleeper agents have been trained carry out violent terrorist activities, political assignations, or distributing pro-Kerlian propaganda. The Council of Kerlile released a terse statement on their website overnight vehemently denying any knowledge of the so-called “Aurora Programme” and claiming the news leak was a deliberate attempt by Lauchenoirian Prime Minister Alvarez to discredit the government of Kerlile at a time when reform efforts in the Matriarchy have raised hopes of warming relations between the two nations.
Acting Director of the Gardavasque Intelligence Agency, Captain Tashunka Witko, released a statement acknowledging the report and assuring the Gardavascan People of a special “Aurora-Hunter” task force that has been established with the nations of Laeral and Eiria since the original disclosure during the Haven Accords two years ago. Despite numerous conspiracy theories circulating on the Internet, Captain Witko said, there is no evidence to support a sleeper cell operating in Gardavasque, nor is there any merit to the claim that a Kerlian terrorist cell was responsible for the 2001 bombing of the Eternity Stock Exchange, as some have claimed.
Secretary of State Anita Grinnon-Barrett released a statement urging calm and assuring the Gardavascan People that “there is no such thing as Auroras.” She affirms the Department of State is doing everything it can to secure the identities of any Kerlians who may have entered the country with altered documents or altered identities.

Empress of Shen Dies
Wu Zhou, the God-empress of Shen, Khagan of Monogon, lord of the south dragon, Heaven's chosen arbiter, and mother of all her subjects, has died at the age of 83. Wu was the longest-reigning Empress in Shen history leading the nation since 1953. Under her tenure, the Empire has developed from a mostly agricultural country into a sophisticated orderly empire ranked 3rd most conservative in the IDU. Her youngest daughter Wu Zhoa becomes the new Sovereign. Funeral services will be held November 30th following an official 10-day mandatory nationwide mourning period. Prime Minister Yorick Spence will lead the Gardavascan delegation to pay respects on behalf of the People of Gardavasque.

Latest Olympic Results
Results of individual swimming events are in from the 2019 Olympic Games in Shuell. In the 200 meter Women’s Butterfly, Terri Nagard of Astoria took top honors with Sabrina Langdon of Libertas Omnium Maximus earning the silver, and Aurea Daniau taking the bronze for Kerlile. In women’s 200 meter freestyle, Allana Jankovic won the gold Kerlile, Mara Ribbeck took silver for Shuell, and the bronze went to Eliza Gerada of Eiria. In men’s individual swimming, 200 meter Butterfly, Jimmy Cochran earned a gold medal for Zamastan, Huang Xi of Great Shen got the silver medal, and Raymond Teel earned a bronze for Lauchenoiria. In the men’s 200 meter Freestyle, Lauchenoiria’s Chema Logan earned the gold, Adnris Neleda of Eira took silver, and Aprod Soma of Shuell earned the Bronze. Shuell leads the medal count with 6 gold, 5 silver, and 7 bronze, followed by Zamastan and Lauchenoiria.
