Metro System in Eternity

The Metro Eternity Transit system, or "MET," is an extensive network of rapid transit electrified railway lines that run mostly underground on the Eternity Peninsula and into the city's main suburbs. It is part of the larger public transport system Eternity Bay Association of Regional Transit Systems (EBARTS) that also includes bus, streetcar, trolley, auto and passenger ferry, commuter train, high speed rail, funicular, aerial tram, and tiltrotor passenger drones. Passengers may use one electronic card to pay fares system wide. The price for most rides is ¥5/trip or ¥15/day. The system began construction in 1933 and opened in its first line in 1935. As of 2019, there are five completed MET lines (Ruby, Sapphire, Diamond, Emerald, and Amethyst) with three more lines currently in various stages of planning and construction. Currently, the Diamond and Sapphire lines are fully autonomous (driverless), with upgrades for the entire system expected to be completed in 2024. The total network length is 166 kilometres, with 101 stations, serving an average daily ridership of 1.3 million.
