Galac-Tac

The Supple Defense Forces and Supple Security Forces have always been searching for an edge in battle. StrangeReal is a pretty dangerous place after all, and you never know when Nurth supple lund is gonna unleash some mutated monstrosity on the hapless citizens of NSL. Thus, its high time the SDF and SSF gain some new kind of armor, one that looks cool, works well, and most importantly, looks cool.

Thus, I am proud to present the newest type of body armor in Supple Service: Galac-Tac!

Galac-Tac armor was specifically designed to look all futuristic and science-fictioney, as well as being cool as heck. I guess the designers watched one to many episodes of Star Wars or played one to many games of Halo, I dunno. Anyway, lets check out each of the components:

-The "Soft" Armor
While the primary benefit of Galac-Tac is its increased protective capabilities, it still relies on a few pieces of "soft" armor, including the boots, the gloves, the kneepads (integrated into the troopers pant) and the plate-carrier, which in itself offers limited anti-ballistic capability.

-The Helmet
The helmet here is in stark contrast with most helmets, as it fully encloses the troopers face. The faceplate is designed to deflect shrapnel away from the troopers head, hence its odd shape. The "T" visor is fully polarized and provides the trooper with a good combination of visibility and protection. The top of the helmet has a mount for night vision goggles and similar optics, and can mount a microphone system on the side. Overall, it is lightweight, rugged, and intimidating.

-The Chest Plate
This comes in 2 varieties: a version for the upper chest, and a version for the entire chest. Both versions are made out of a high impact, rigid polymer plate, the exact materials used unknown. But it is both lightweight and rugged, offer excellent protection while allowing for superior mobility. It also includes a throat protector on the front as well.

-The Shoulder Pauldrons and Bracers
Complementing the Chest Plate are these to pieces of armor. They are also made of the same material, and offer good coverage and protection while not impairing mobility

-The Groin Protector
Rounding out the armor set is this piece, allowing the user complete protection of his entire upper body. It also gives the user a space above to store items, such as magazine pouches

Work is underway to equip all frontline soldiers with this armor, but it is expected to take time. But it is a step in the right direction! Onward, the future awaits!
