Corindi-Aizconan Joint Space Station
Corindi-Aizconan Joint Space Station
The CAJSS is composed of two primary modules, the Fraternité module (produced in Corindia by Acelias, Aeromada, and Corindi Dynamics, seen on the left below) and the Space Lab 1 module (produced in Aizcona, seen on the right below). The main habitation spaces and critical life support systems are contained in the Fraternité module, first launched in 2018, while the majority of the experimental hardware, including a miniature pharmaceutical laboratory amongst other standard orbital testing equipment, is contained in the Space Lab 1 module. Resupply can be performed using standard orbital vehicles or the experimental OS6 "Liberty" cargo lifting-body space plane. The individual modules were carried into low Earth orbit by Corindi Quasar rockets and the Svalbardian Atlas World Bearer Rocket produced by Arildrion Industries, whereas resupply and smaller attachments are brought by the reusable Constelación II launch platform, as it is far more cost efficient.
The station is intended to be kept in continuous operation by the CDS and the Aizconan space program until 2045, at which time it will be safely de-orbited so as to avoid debris remaining in LOE. Basic design work on a successor station, ideally to include more regional partners, has already begun.
