The Socialist Economy in the 21st Century

So-called "private" economics are a distant memory in the minds of the Yungdaalian people. A small portion of the economy is owned and controlled directly by the government while the rest is state-owned, but democratically self-managed by the Working Class. The Yungdaalian citizenry view this as an extension of their democratic rights and see the effective management of their industry as the duty of every working citizen. Each worker in Yungdaalia is paid according to the Labor Theory of Value, and any excess profits are distributed by the state in lieu of a taxation system. In this way, workers are able to control the fruits of their labor freely while critical expenditures and the welfare of the disabled and elderly is not left by the wayside.
