NOU The Card Game

NOU The Card Game

(Yes I know the quality is bad, I'm not good at doing these kind of images)

Official rules

UNO is a shedding-type card game, that requires 2-10 players. The goal of the game is to be the first to have no cards in your hand. The deck consists of 110 cards: 25 each of four different colors(red, blue, yellow, and green), and 10 "Reverse" cards, the "Reverse" cards being "action cards".
To start a hand, five cards are dealt to each player, and the top card of the remaining deck is flipped over and set aside to begin the discard pile. The player to the dealer's left plays first unless the card on the discard pile is an action card. On a player's turn, they must do one of the following:

  • play one card matching the discard in color, number, or symbol

  • play an action card

  • draw the top card from the deck, then play it if possible

Action cards have the following effects:

  • Reverse - Order of play switches directions (clockwise to counterclockwise, or vice versa) - Dealer plays first; play proceeds counterclockwise

A player who draws from the deck must either play or keep that card and may play no other card from their hand on that turn.
If the entire deck is used during play, the top discard is set aside and the rest of the pile is shuffled to create a new deck. Play then proceeds normally.
It is illegal to trade cards of any sort with another player.
A player who plays their next-to-last card must call "Nou" as a warning to other players.

Penalties

If a player does not call "Nou" after laying down their next-to-last card and is caught before the next player in sequence takes a turn they must draw five cards as a penalty. If the player is not caught in time or remembers to call "Nou" before being caught, they suffer no penalty. If a player falsely calls "Nou" while having multiple cards in their hand, they must draw five cards

Two-player game

In a two-player game, when the Reverse card is played the other player misses a turn.
