The homeworld of the Osworni and the Federation, Osworn, has a long and complicated history explaining it's importance to the Federation. The planet of Osworn is mostly covered in water with only small islands/continents here and there. Most of Osworni history is nation-states battling each other for dominance over the planet. Once they got to what is mostly known as the "Modern Age" the nation-states decided to stop fighting and unite the planet under a Democratic Federation. They spent several hundred years stuck on their planet with no way to get off until they developed FTL technology. They look towards the stars hoping to unite the galaxy under a peaceful and fair Federation.
