Doravan

Details

Doravan is the lingua franca of Sajnur, and the native language of the Dorava people. Ironically, the Dorava are historically the third largest ethnicity, and are now the fourth largest since the acquisition of large portions of Laghian territory in a series of wars in what is now Sajnur's north. Nevertheless, their position as the first inhabitants of Sajnur meant that their language became the language of trade in the region.

Sjemjori

Details

The Sjemjori people are the largest ethnicity in Sajnur, and as such their language has the highest number of first language speakers. Their language exhibits palatalisation, which is marked by the proximity of the letter j. J will palatalise any preceding consonant, and any back vowel adjacent to the letter j will be fronted. Thus "Sjemjori" is pronounced [ɕemjøri].
