The Toshavoan Armed Forces are the federal armed forces of Toshavo. They consist of the Army, Navy, the Air Force, the Marine Guard and the Civilian Guard. The Prime Minister is the military's overall head, and helps form military policy with the Toshavo Ministry of Defense (TMoD), a federal executive department, acting as the principal organ by which military policy is carried out.
Command Structure
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Command over the armed forces is established in the Toshavo Articles Of National Defense. The sole power of command is vested in the Prime Minister by Article II as Commander-in-Chief.
The Articles also allows for the creation of "executive Departments" headed "principal officers" whose opinion the Prime Minister can require. This allowance in the Arcticles formed the basis for creation of the Ministry of Defense in 1946 by the Military Reorganization Act. The Defense Ministry is also lead by the Defense Minister.
The Minister of Defense is second in the military's chain of command, just below the Prime Minister and serves as the principal civilian assistant to the Prime Minister in all defense matters. Together, the The Prime Minister and the Minister of Defense comprise the National Command Authority, which by law, is the ultimate lawful source of military orders.
The third in command is the title of High General, the highest and most senior military officer within the Armed Forces. The High General is the principal military advisor to the Prime Minister and is in command of all matters related to national security and military operations. This title is often granted by the Prime Minister.

Overview
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Toshavoan Navy is the naval arm of the Toshavoan Armed Forces. It has existed in various forms since 1926, the present iteration of which was formed in January 1989 when it succeeded the Navy of the Global Socialist Republic (which had itself succeeded the GSR Navy following the dissolution of the GSR in late December 1988).
Neither Jane's Fighting Ships nor the International Institute for Strategic Studies list any standard ship prefixes for the vessels of the Toshavoan Navy. The OSEAN government sometimes uses the exonymous prefix "RFS" (for "Russian Federation Ship"). However, the Toshavoan Navy itself does not use this convention.
The Toshavoan Navy possesses the vast majority of the former GSR naval forces, and currently comprises the Emerald Fleet, the Erinevo Fleet, the Western Sea Fleet, Naval Aviation, and the Coastal Troops (consisting of the naval infantry and the Coastal Missile and Artillery Troops).
