Domais's R/D Guide: The raiders guide

Welcome to my guide on R/D(Raid and Defense): The raiders guide(all times are in Eastern standard time)
Updates
Nationstates has two updates:
  • Major: 12:00 AM - 1:00 AM

  • Minor: 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

Each region has a different update time. To find when a region updates you can use the regional activity page. Regional activity page: Simply look for when you see:
  • <Insert nation here> Influence <Rose/Fell> in <Region name>

  • <Insert nation here> was rated top <%> in < the world/<region name>

Keep in mind that each region has a different update time for the major and the minor update.

The importance of updates
In these updates:
  • Endorsements are verified

  • Influence is assessed

  • New delegates are crowned

(other things happen but those are the main things)

Timing
Given that each region updates at a certain time it is important to be on time as if you miss the the update you will have to wait until the next. But why not just move in 10 minutes before the update, good question it is because the people might notice so it's vary important you come as close to the update as possible; 60 seconds or less.
Jump points
What are jump points? Jump points are regions that are designed for moving nations during updates or jumping: this is ware raider puppets are stored. If a region updates within the last 5 minutes of the update it can be used for a jump point. Why are jump points needed? Jump points are needed because of the way that nationstates is setup, you can not just use one puppet for 1 update; you must use the same amount of raider puppets as regions you are raiding. Why is this? This is because if you jump into a region that has a latter update time then the one your jumping from your endorsements will be registered in the region you jump from, not the one you just jumped into.
Influence
When raiding larger regions you may sometimes use a puppet called a sleeper. What is a sleeper? A sleeper is a puppet designed to blend into the region and to accumulated influence. This is important as password protecting the region, ejecting nations, ban nations, changing the regions password, and changing if the regions password is displayed, all cost influence.
Founders
Founders are the end all be all of R/D as if there is a founder in a region it is almost impossible to raid that region as they do not need influence to do anything.
Natives
A native is defined by two or more of the following:
  • Any nation that has membership or citizenship status in a region where a legitimate, sovereign government is present

  • A nation which takes up residence in a region without the intention of furthering the goals and aims of a foreign force

  • Nations that possess more Regional Influence in a region than in any other region

Be mindful of the natives as they are people two.

Region Hawking
This is when you find a founderless region to refound. The processes is simply eject or banject all of the nations so that at the next update the region gets removed by the game. This can be used to deny the enemy the use of a regional name.
Piling
To Pile is to move your WA nation to a puppet. Move to a region and endorse the selected people.
WA Liberation resolution
This type of resolution removes the ability to password protect a region and thus allowing for a counter raid to happen.
Point
The nation that is to become the delegate of the selected region
Tag raid
A region that is raided at the update but the raiders and/or delegate resigns from the WA. This is used for advertisement and practice among other things.
Tag run
Muiltipe tag raids in an update. Used for advertisement and practice among other things.
Trigger
The leader, the person that gives the green light to go.
These are the people that taught me how to raid/are my sources: King Nephmir II (viewtopic.php?f=12&t=307728),The xenomorph drone (guide to R&D), Soviet armed forces (A Guide to NationStates Warfare), Everloyal6 (Raiding Guide II), and Sweeze.
