Durraki Colony RP

Durraki RP Overview

Durraki is the 3rd planet in the Kalrania System. Unlike Kalrania, however, it is a desert, largely devoid of liquid water, with most of it's reserves in the form of ice at high elevations and near the polar regions. Recent scans from orbit have indicated several things that may be significant to the nations of Kalrania. Ultimately, they will allow a nation to specify the nature of their colonization program and activities on Durraki. Currently, the following options are available.

• Plateaus, flats, and other strategically important locations have been identified. These points are excellent locations for nations to project their power through a Military Colony, which come with an obvious security advantage, but is economically draining, and limited by available resources.

• Mineral deposits have been detected across the surface of Durraki, providing a prime opportunity for Mining Colonies to develop. Mining Colonies can boost a nations' economy by extracting minerals on-the-cheap from Durraki's surface, but are also vulnerable to attack.

• Orbital scans have also identified craters, dried riverbeds, volcanoes and other scientifically intriguing locations that bode well for the construction of Research Colonies, which, unlike Mining Colonies, can carry out their scientific operations without the need for protection from a Military Colony.

Colony Types, Explained.

Military Colonies - The goal of a Military Colony is to cement a nations' control on the surface of Durraki.

• Operations: Military Colonies collaborate with Mining Colonies by agreeing to protect them, in exchange for resources needed to maintain military units. Military Colonies also are fully capable of raiding unprotected Mining Colonies, and challenging the forces of another Military Colony. A Military Colony can also collaborate with a Research Colony, offering protection to them in exchange for their own units gaining a technological edge. A major limitation of a Military Colony is their constant need for resources, for this reason a Military Colony that cooperates with a Mining Colony will have an advantage over those that simply raid them.

Mining Colonies - The goal of a Mining Colony is to extract resources for economic gain.

• Operations: Mining Colonies seek protection by contacting Military Colonies, who agree to protect them in exchange for resources. A Mining Colony that has protection from a Military Colony will be inherently safer and much more difficult to raid than an unprotected one. Some mining colonies may also choose to cooperate with Research Colonies, boosting their mining output in exchange for a cut of the extracted resources.

Research Colonies - Research Colonies carry out scientific research on Durraki, for peaceful...and not so peaceful purposes.

• Operations: Research Colonies are filled to the brim with High-Tech sensors, scanners, and equipment. Research Colonies can cooperate with a Mining Colony, boosting its extraction output in exchange for raw materials to fuel scientific operations. Research colonies can also collaborate with Military Colonies, boosting the power of their units in exchange for protection or funds. However, a Research Colony is fully capable of defending itself from an assault by even a well-supplied Military Colony. They are only vulnerable to Military Colonies that are both supplied by a Mining Colony and boosted by a Research Colony.

• The Durraki RP takes place in the same universe as the Kalranian RP, however, the two are SEPARATED, with Candensian Magic being the only way to set up a Colony on the surface, or interact with Durraki in any way.

• The starting location of a Colony is not a point of contention or conflict.

• Land and territorial control is not a point of contention or conflict.

• All Colonies are assumed to be close enough to interact with one another.

Be advised, there will be revisions to these rules, as they become needed. If you make a Durraki RP post I, Candensia, or any of the other mods don't like, you will be asked to void it. Things that I don't want you to be able to do might not be covered by these rules, but I'll still void it, or ask you to change it if I think it's necessary.

• Nations are only allowed ONE colony on Durraki, choose your type carefully and wisely.

• Nations are required to follow the RP and Tech Rules, nothing changes on Durraki.

• Military Sizes should not exceed 10,000. These are colonies, not well-established cities.

• Military Colonies can effectively protect no more than two Colonies at a time.

• Nations are Required to format all Durraki RP posts using the following title, in order to specify that the post is taking place on Durraki.

  The candensian mining colony, Mitchell, has undergone major expansion within the last few months, adding several new excavation operations that have doubled overall output.

• ALL Nations wishing to join in on the Durraki RP must submit a Colonization Application, provided below.

  A revolution in technology allows for the development of a colony on Durraki, but Candensia still needs to know a bit of information before a nation can get settled. Nations are required to fill the following application out and send it to Candensia via telegram or discord dm.

  Though this might be quite basic, I plan to develop this RP quite considerably through RP Events. As time goes on, I will add more facets to the Durraki RP, bear with me, please.
