The Republic of Trident Taiwan is a huge, orderly nation, remarkable for its keen interest in outer space, hatred of cheese, and stringent health and safety legislation. The hard-nosed, cynical, humorless, devout population of 634 million Trident Taiwanians are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."

The large, corrupt, moralistic, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Law & Order, and Administration. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of New Taipei. The average income tax rate is 69.7%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The strong Trident Taiwanian economy, worth 47.4 trillion Haxes a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is a large, well-organized black market in Arms Manufacturing, Uranium Mining, Woodchip Exports, and Door-to-door Insurance Sales. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is 74,774 Haxes, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Unused plastic recycling bins are being dumped into landfills by the tonne, back-alley circumcision clinics are popping up all over the nation, 4-year-olds are often found reminiscing about the 'good old days', and it's rare to find an unchewed pencil. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Trident Taiwan's national animal is the Citizens, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation.

Trident Taiwan is ranked 187,419th in the world and 437th in The Free Nations Region for Nudest, with 54.25 Cheeks Per Square Mile.
