Foundationism

Foundationism is rooted in the idea that beyond all the doctrines of each belief system is a core truth. As such Foundationism rejects all 'formal' doctrines and insists that the core message of God gets lost when politics, money, and nationalism get involved.

There are three core tenants of Foundationism.

First is that God is too big to be defined by words and that the closer one gets to defining God, the further away it gets.

Second that if one is not careful, a person can (metaphorically) lose themselves in the world. As such they are careful to never own too much, what is necessary to live a comfortable life. They also tend to work in socially beneficial roles to give back to their society, dominating the fields of health care, social welfare, and government.

Third is that there is great joy in any positive physical contact and as such it is encouraged for followers to engage in extremely close inter-personal interactions. It is not uncommon for followers to greet one another, or strangers, with a kiss rather than a handshake. They will also engage in even more intimate activities if they believe their friends or others to be in a bad emotional state (or even if the other party is just bored), or celebrating: provided that its been pre-established that all parties are open to it. Marriage is practiced, but it is not uncommon for multiple spouses/partners to be involved and gender has very little if no factor in who is embracing who. The only strict rule is that cheating and unwanted contact is frowned upon.
