The Party believes

  • Progressive Parliament believes in radical Political Reform to convert Thaecia into a Presidential Parliamentary Democracy.

  • PP will have the position of President as the sole executive role, with the Prime Minister role being moved to the House of Commons, remaining as Head of Government. The President will be Head of State and represent Thaecia in the World Assembly.

  • PP believes in Bicameralism where the House of Commons is the superior legislative chamber.

  • PP will reform the House of Commons where the President selects a Prime Minister who is the leader of the majority party/coalition and is appointed through a confidence vote in the House. The Prime Minister serves as Head of Government and appoints there Ministers who are Members of Parliament. The leader of the largest opposition party becomes Opposition Leader.

  • PP will reform the position of Speaker of the House of Commons to be a neutral person who when elected by the House, must leave their party and have control of the floor of the House.

  • PP will reform the Senate to be a smaller, checks and balances chamber. The Senate will be unable to introduce new legislation, but will have the ability to block and amend legislation sent from the House of Commons.

  • PP will increase House of Commons terms to 3 months, and increase Presidential & Senate terms to 6 months.

  • PP will introduce an inactivity clause to the Constitution allowing the removal of public officials, including President & Prime Minister, should they be inactive for an excessive amount of time.

  • PP supports the construction of embassies with any neutral region and is tolerant to the creation of embassies with defender regions.

  • PP believes in expanding Thaecia's international influence within the international community and World Assembly.

  • PP will not accept or tolerate any embassies to be formed with Raider, Fascist or Communist regions.

  • PP supports Thaecia joining or leading an inter-regional organisation, but believes that extensive discussion and a public referendum must take place before any agreements are made.

  • Progressive Parliament respects the independence of the Roleplay from the Thaecian Government and believes in protecting the RP from government interference, but believes that direct rule should be an option during times of crisis.
