Little Tidbits (Old)

-The nation follows the metric system.
-Its sentient species makeup is mostly human (with the primary non-human sentient species being Nixies, Nibelungs, Elementals, Forest-Children, Giants, and Artificial Intelligences).
-The Ferramark is not decimalized, unlike the Iron Credit, Mundiferrum's original currency.
-The nation's biggest meal is lunch for the weekdays, and dinner for the weekends.
-Mundiferrum follows three calendars: the International Standard (January, February, etc), the Millicentais Solar (twelve 30-day months (with the first month starting on the beginning of spring), five feast days, and a leap day every International Standard leap year, all of the months have Millicentais names related to an agricultural activity), and the Ironhold Lunar (an oddly arranged lunar calendar only Ironhold folk understand).
-The nation has a constitution, the "Gladialbin Control". The constitution essentially defines the nation, its citizens' rights, and the powers of the government. The king is not considered to be bound by most of the constitution, being bound only by the laws concerning the definition of the nation, the citizens' rights, and (see below) crown succession.
-Crown succession is by "Crown Adoption": the ruling king will choose a member of his household ('a member of the household' being defined by an over-complicated list of laws defined within the constitution) to become his successor. This successor is not limited by sex, age, mental health, physical capacity, or even species (although only sentient species may be considered part of the household).
-Mundiferrum has two sets of names per citizen: one is the English system, which follows a system common to many nations within the NSverse, and the other is the Latin system, which follows another set of complicated rules best expounded upon at some other time. Native citizens often use their Latin praenomina to be their first names for the English system, although they often refer to each other via their proper nomina with their prenomina. All citizens of Mundiferrum are registered both by their Latin names and their English names.
-Following the aforesaid system, the full name of King Ozymandias II of Idlewild is unfortunately, King Ozymandias II has decided to keep his full and true name secret, for the purposes of national security.
-There is a deep relationship between church and state within Mundiferrum, although the state is not allowed to make any direct contributions to the church's doctrine, and the church is not allowed to pervasively interfere with the affairs of the government. In other words, it's a peaceful, not-annoying coexistence. Sort of.
-Corruption in Mundiferrum's government was once prevalent, but with the efforts of the King the nation is no longer plagued with easy-to-bribe officials and an impossibly slow bureaucracy. The nation, however, still gets some scandals, although often said scandals are too small to really have any effect on anything.
-The nation's most popular sports are Flight Races (where the competitors where flight suits and fly around an obstacle course, trying to beat a certain time), Eagle Jousting (essentially jousting, but on the backs of Albin Eagles), and Full-Force Copulation (where the competitors try to create the most pleasure out of, well, yeah).
-The people of Mundiferrum prefer using Tarot cards over the standard french-suited 52-card decks.
-River-Notch, Mundiferrum's rival in The East Pacific, has officially ceded its TEP citizenship to Mundiferrum (ie the RiverNotch account in the EP forums is mine, and I shall be rping Mundiferrum there from now on). The terrestrial territory they originally ceded from Mundiferrum has been retaken, and the citizens of River-Notch have... err, made space their home? Heaven is somewhat a part of space, right? Although in a way, Heaven is more a metaphysical concept than something definable in the corporeal construct we call the universe... so maybe not.
