The Republic of MegaTokyo-3 is a gargantuan, socially progressive nation, ruled by Leader with an even hand, and remarkable for its daily referendums, keen interest in outer space, and complete absence of social welfare. The hard-nosed, hard-working, democratic, humorless population of 36.895 billion Meganians have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

The minute government, or what there is of one, is dominated by the Department of Education, with Law & Order also on the agenda, while Spirituality and International Aid receive no funds. Income tax is unheard of.

The frighteningly efficient Meganian economy, worth an astonishing 19,508 trillion nu-yens a year, is driven almost entirely by the private sector, which is broadly diversified and led by the Information Technology industry, with major contributions from Book Publishing, Woodchip Exports, and Automobile Manufacturing. State-owned companies are reasonably common. Average income is a breathtaking 528,768 nu-yens, with the richest citizens earning 5.3 times as much as the poorest.

The new 'Who Wants To Be A Politician' election debate auditions are more popular than the debates themselves, minorities play dumb to get more welfare payments, advertisements read like science journal articles complete with extensive references, and a weakened police force struggles to maintain law and order. Crime, especially youth-related, is so common that it is unusual to encounter someone following the law, perhaps because of the country's complete lack of prisons. MegaTokyo-3's national animal is the dove, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to toxic air pollution.

MegaTokyo-3 is ranked 34,913th in the world and 1st in The Continent of ReC for Most Average, scoring 46.66 on the Average Standardized Normality Scale.
