Air Force and Navy Task Force Deployed to Protect B.R. Shipping in Middle East (3/4/24)

BRS Prosperity will lead a Bryn Rhyddidian military presence in the Red Sea to protect merchant vessels.

In recent months, numerous Bryn Rhyddidian merchant vessels transiting the Red Sea have come under fire from drones and missiles fired by Houthi rebels in Yemen. In order to protect the Bryn Rhyddidian merchant fleet and ensure safe passage of civilian vessels, the Stadthalder of Bryn Rhyddid announced today the deployment of a task force of the Bryn Rhyddidian military to the region. The frigates BRS Prosperity and BRS Liberty, supported by the landing ship BRS Resolute, and the respective air wings of each ship, will patrol shipping lanes to shield vessels from missile and drone attacks. In addition to the naval vessels, a rotating contingent of aircraft of the Bryn Rhyddid Air Force and Naval Aviation will operate from Djibouti, consisting of 12 F-5 Tiger fighters, 12 A-4AR FightingHawk strike aircraft, 3 S-2T Tracker and 2 S-3 Viking patrol aircraft, 1 EMB 145 command and control aircraft, and 1 US-2 rescue amphibian. The air wing of the operation is tasked with intercepting drone activity and identifying and striking launch sites.
